E-mail Print PDF

Workshop

Who should attend:
This workshop is especially designed for clinicians, researchers and qEEG specialists who are or will be using qEEG for neurofeedback and related modalities to guide the treatment of neurobehavioral disorders.

BCIA is now the BIOFEEDBACK CERTIFICATION INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE.

BCIA credits
This workshop provides 24 hours of BCIA certification or recertification hours.

Level:
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced (we will have special evening classes available in addition to the day workshop for beginners)

Register here: Course registration

Workshop topics:
Presenters will cover the reading of raw EEG, remontaging, Laplacian, current source density, origin of EEG as well as recently introduced concepts such as comodulation, phase resetting, and synchrony. Discussion will include models of connectivity and concepts introduced by Nunez and Srinivasan in Electric Fields of the Brain and by Buzsaki in Rhythms of the Brain.

Participants will be able to experience actual EEG recording using the Deymed TruScan 32 and BrainFeedback 2 systems and see how neurofeedback protocols are set up and used. Presenters will demonstrate methods for obtaining quality recording, artifact removal and distinguishing muscle from EEG in the recordings.

Part of the workshop will be reserved for the detailed evaluation of participants' complex cases in a group setting. Neuroguide, LORETA, and Novatech databases will be used for the development of specific neurofeedback training protocols. Evaluation using the Brain Resource Corporation database of 24 channels and more than 3,000 cases will also be illustrated.

NEW:
A portion of the workshop will be dedicated to working with Deymed's new 19 channel Z-SCORE neurofeedback via Neuroguide. S-LORETA will be demonstrated as well as Auditory and Visual Evoked Related Potentials.

What to bring:
Participants should bring cases in Neuroguide saved files, Lexicor files, Deymed recordings or other formats that can be inputted into Neuroguide and Eureka-3. These must be coded to preserve confidentiality.
