Workshop Schedule

SCHEDULE OF TOPICS BFTI WORKSHOP January 20-22, 2012

 

Friday, January 20th:

9am-5pm with a 1.5 hour break for lunch served at the workshop

  • Goals of the workshop, review of CD handouts and the 10/20 and 10/10 systems of electrode placement and dense arrays.

  • Discussion of Normal and Abnormal EEG patterns and artifacts. This will include presentation of examples of many types of epileptiform activity, traumatic brain injury, coma and other abnormalities both of cerebral and other organ origins.

  • Demonstration of recording of 19channel EEG and patient preparation for reducing artifacts

  • Raw and QEEG analysis of the recorded EEG under eyes open and closed conditions

  • LORETA analysis of the EEG .

  • Connectivity analysis of the EEG.

  • Development of protocols for neurofeedback.

 

7pm-10pm optional evening session (no additional charge)

  • Hands on training for QEEG and Neurofeedback.

 

Saturday, January 21st:

9am-5pm with a 1.5 hour break for lunch served at the workshop

  • Demonstration of Z-SCORE neurofeedback and the new Neuroguide based neurofeedback.

  • Discussion of methods for signal processing of the EEG for extremely accurate neurofeedback. This includes active bandpass filters, Fourier Transform, Gabor Transform methods advantages and disadvantages of each.

  • Beginning of case reviews and detailed analysis of cases from the participants and our own cases. (participants can bring cases in Neuroguide saved files, Lexicor files, Deymed recordings or other formats that can be inputted into Neuroguide and Eureka-3. These must be coded to preserve confidentiality.)

 

7pm-10pm optional evening session (no additional charge)

  • Hands on training for Neurofeedback.

 

Sunday, January 22nd

9am-3:00pm

  • Case analyses continued and Pharmacologic considerations in treatment.

  • Gabor analysis in QEEG, Bispectral analysis.

  • Coverage of any topics from the participants in more detail.
